DFL Senate District 50
Senate District 50 is a unit of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party in Minnesota. SD50 covers part or all of seven suburbs in northern Ramsey and southern Anoka Counties. Two House Districts, 50A and 50B, contain a total of 27 precincts.
House District 50A is the western side of SD50 and contains 17 precincts. HD 50B is the eastern side with 9 precincts..
The number of precincts in the district has changed since redistricting. Precinct W-2 P-4 in Fridley was split between the A and B sides of the Senate District and the A side was recently renamed to Fridley W-2 P-5. Fridley W-1 P-2 was split between HD50A and HD51A and the small piece that was included in HD50A has been merged into Fridley W-3 P-2. Fridley has made small adjustments to other precincts, such as moving part of W-3 P-3 into W-1 P-3.
Precinct 6 in Shoreview was split between HD50B and HD53A and the western portion, which went to HD50B, has been recently designated as Shoreview Precinct 7.
New Brighton has recently re-organized its precincts and reduced the number from seven to four.
